Driving Collective Bargaining Under The Trump Administration

Congratulations to the members of IAM Local Lodge 2297 who work aboard MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina and within the properties and fence-lines of the Fleet Readiness East. These men and women provide material support to the Production workers and GS employees directly responsible for supporting the war-fighter. These federal employees work for the Defense Logistics Agency in Aviation and Distribution roles and play a vital part in accomplishing the FRCE mission. The Union and the Employer just signed their second three year Collective Bargaining Agreement on November 26, 2018. The process was arduous and delayed by changes in responsible Labor and Employee Relation personnel and Executive Orders from the current Trump administration which faced challenges in Federal Court.

Local Lodge 2297 is proud to represent the federal workforce of DLA personnel at Cherry Point. The members and non-members benefit from the experience and dedication of the Stewards and Officers who represent their interest. Local 2297 has had contracts with the Military for more than fifty (50) years and continues to provide profession service to all of its’ members and non members as well as to the communities in which they live
